This is our up and coming overview of the ‘Top 10’ need-to-know basics when interacting with a Siberian husky!

In this introductory series of video shorts, including How-Tos and What Is Husky Therapy, we’ll review most-asked and favorite topics that you may experience when engaging with y/our Siberian Husky. Watching these videos is intended to give you insight into how your time with the dogs can be of most unique benefit therapeutically to you.

We’ll walk you through your first 8 “Focus Points” showcasing how you can set in motion positive momentum techniques for social interaction, social cues, self-reflection, and self-guidance. You’ll begin to notice how you naturally integrate the 4 methods  we’ll cover (behavioral, emotional, social, spiritual). Be sure to follow along and enjoy the process when you’re with your dog for in-person Husky Therapy!

How Does Bonding Happen?

& HOW CAN HUSKY THERAPY HELP

Huskies are like superheroes — they have a lot of power and good intention, but like any talent, they need good training! So it’s a bit of both really— being a good match and having good skillful communication and ways of relating. Some comes naturally, but you always need training.

That’s where YOUR unique companionship comes in— YOU can help them by structuring their learning curve, listening to their needs and preferences, and encouraging their abilities through love. The benefit is that while you are focused on guiding your husky, you are simultaneously becoming aware of How your guidance works with the dog, as well as how your guidance works with yourself. This witnessing technique is strengthened by the emotional engagement you have with the husky. With our video hints, you’ll have more than just a clue what to do and how to self-direct your own path of self-inquiry, healing, and therapeutic results!

The importance of understanding and practicing with their child-like (relatable) need for balancing play and boundaries, cannot be understated. It helps us truly receive their gifts, while preventing overwhelm, disconnection, or acting-out. We then have the guided opportunity to turn this method we witnessed ourselves engage with a husky into our own self-assessment in our adult lives and gain insight and experience into how we might creatively or willingly self-correct or likewise where we might recognize that we need more support or guidance to re-direct. Over the course of a few weeks, or a couple of months, you will be invited to notice how simple multilayered momentum begins to help rather than hinder your growth. This can set the stage for a new level of embodiment, integration, and well being.

A good analogy for the music lovers out there, would be that just like we see with singer/ songwriter Ed Sheeran’s performance style, you can think of your early behavioral training like a ‘loop machine’ — where you play one musical element and record it, which is to set it in motion on a loop, and then to add each additional one mindfully and successively, until you have a full background track on top of which your current performance can be sung freestyle. Or in this analogy, you’ll be training the most essential behavioral and relationship ‘background’ habits and experiencing them while you learn and adapt until they’re on autopilot, setting you free for even more pawsitive new adventures and harmonious experiences.

Imagine having a healthy happy companion animal that is like your best friend. In keeping with the music analogy, friends are like natural ‘tuning forks’— you help each other be your most authentic selves every day. When one needs to ‘hold space’ for the other, it allows you both to come back into balance in your own timing. And harmonizing, no matter what’s happening, that’s precisely what the goals are when experiencing ‘husky therapy’ techniques as well. Practicing and nurturing this deep friendship and connection that comes with Husky Therpy is just one of the many benefits Mahavidya Siberians can bring.
